How much does team building cost in Dubai?
Real per-person prices for corporate team building in Dubai and the UAE — from AED 190 to AED 3,200 a day — and the four things that actually move the number.
A single-day corporate team building event in Dubai or the wider UAE costs between AED 190 and AED 3,200 per person, excluding 5% VAT. Most land between AED 300 and AED 700. The spread is that wide because “team building” covers a two-hour indoor activity and a private yacht with a chef on board, and those are not the same purchase.
What follows is the real distribution, using published prices from our own catalog rather than the bands most agencies quote. Every figure below is a price we will actually honour, at the group size stated.

Those five rows are the shape of it. Above that, you have left the day-event market. A four-night incentive trip to Istanbul is AED 5,000–5,800 per person; an alpine board retreat is AED 22,500–25,000. Those are travel products, not team building, and they are budgeted a year ahead.
The four things that move the number
Everything else is noise. These four decide the quote.
1. Group size — and it moves the price down, not up.
This is the single most misunderstood part of event pricing. The coach, the venue hire, the coordinator, the MC and the photographer cost the same whether 30 people or 80 attend. Spread across more people, the per-person number falls, often steeply:
- A private dhow evening: AED 620 at 10–29, AED 520 at 30–59, AED 450 at 60+.
- An indoor activity day: AED 420 at 15–29, AED 300 at 30–59, AED 260 at 60+.
- A large-format games day: AED 620 at 50–99, AED 480 at 100–199, AED 400 at 200+.
If you are close to a band boundary, find four more people. Twenty-eight and thirty-two are frequently different prices.
2. The month.
October to April is open season and everything is available. May to September, anything outdoors and physical stops being a responsible choice, and the list collapses to indoor and water-based options. That does not make summer cheaper — indoor venues in Dubai are not cheap — but it does remove the low-cost outdoor options from your menu. The AED 190 desert evening does not exist in July.
3. Exclusivity.
This is where most of the money goes, and it is worth understanding what you are paying for. A shared dhow cruise seat sells publicly at AED 89–150. A privatised dhow — the whole vessel, your branding, your menu, your programme, an MC and a photographer — is AED 450–620. The gap is not a markup on the same thing. It is a different product: one has strangers on the boat and a fixed menu, the other does not.
The same logic applies in the desert. A shared safari seat is AED 130–250. An exclusive camp with nobody else on site starts at AED 460 per person at 100 people.
4. What is actually included.
The most common reason two quotes look different is that they are not quoting the same event. Before comparing, check whether each one includes:
- Return transfer from your office, or whether people are getting there themselves
- Catering, and at what tier — a “buffet” ranges from AED 45 to AED 200 a person
- A photographer, and whether an edited gallery is delivered or a folder of raw files
- Branding beyond a pull-up banner
- An on-ground coordinator for the whole day
- A written weather fallback
A quote that omits four of those and comes in 30% lower is not cheaper. It is smaller.
The costs that appear after the quote
Three reliably catch people out.
VAT. Five per cent, and almost never included in a headline per-person figure. AED 500 per person for 60 people is AED 31,500, not AED 30,000.
Group size drift. You budget for 60, 52 turn up, and you pay for 60 — because the caterer, the coach and the venue were all confirmed against 60. Our terms lock group size seven days out for this reason, and most reputable suppliers work the same way. Plan against the number you can defend a week before, not the invite list. The gap is usually 10 to 15 per cent.
Minimum chargeable persons. A price band has a floor below which it does not cover its own delivered cost. A private dhow evening published at AED 620 for “10–29 people” is billed at a minimum of 27 people, because the vessel charter, the catering minimum and the crew do not shrink for a group of 12. Reputable suppliers state this. Ask for it in writing — a supplier who will not name a minimum is going to find one later.
What we would tell you to do
- Fix the month before anything else. It decides what is available at all.
- Fix the group size band, not the group size. Knowing you are in “30–59” is worth more than a precise guess.
- Set the per-person number and let it choose the tier, rather than picking an activity and hoping.
- Add VAT before finance sees the figure.
- Confirm eight weeks out. The same budget buys visibly more at eight weeks than at three.
