Why this is not the retail version

The comparison inside our own catalog is G-02 Chef's Table Challenge at AED 430 — a cooking competition in a studio kitchen, indoors, year-round, and a genuinely good package. This is AED 440 and it is not a competition.

The difference is that the ingredients are not delivered in a crate. The team picks them, which changes the day in two specific ways. First, the menu is not fixed — the chef sets it after the harvest is weighed, because what comes out of the ground in February is not what came out in November. A team that has to cook what it actually found is doing something a scripted cook-off is not.

Second, the grower. Forty-five minutes with someone who farms commercially in a country with no rain and 45°C summers is the part people repeat afterwards, and it is not available in a studio kitchen at any price.

It is also the only package in the catalog with a genuine sustainability story that is not a CSR package. Food miles, desert agriculture, water — a client who wants an ESG angle without a volunteering day can have this instead, and the story is real rather than assembled.

Sell G-02 for a competitive team and a year-round date. Sell this for a team that would rather make something together than beat each other.

The day, minute by minute

Timeline

  1. 07:30 Bus departs client office. Breakfast boxes and coffee on board
  2. 09:00 Arrival at the farm. Branded welcome, boots and baskets issued
  3. 09:15 Farm walk with the grower — what grows here, what it takes, why UAE agriculture is harder than it looks
  4. 10:00 Harvest. Teams take a crop each and pick against a list the chef has given them
  5. 11:15 Return to the farm kitchen. Wash, sort, weigh
  6. 11:30 Menu brief. The chef reveals the dishes — built around whatever actually came in, which is never quite the plan
  7. 11:45 Cook. Teams take a course each. Stations, knives, heat, real cooking
  8. 13:30 Lunch. Everyone eats what everyone made, at one long table
  9. 14:45 Farm store — teams take produce home
  10. 15:15 Bus departs
  11. 15:30 Arrival at drop point

Weather & backup plan

Trigger
Rain (which makes the fields unworkable and the crops unpickable), or a forecast high above 34°C — harvesting is outdoor physical work.
Fallback

The day is shortened by roughly 90 minutes and a AED 60/person reduction applies. Full cancellation reschedules free within 90 days.
