Why this is not the retail version
A court is AED 200–320 an hour and everybody knows it, because half the office already books one on Thursday nights. So the price has to be defended directly: at AED 420 a person for thirty-two people, the courts themselves are 24% of what is being paid.
The rest is what turns four court bookings into an event. A published draw so people know who they are playing before they arrive. A coaching clinic first, which is the single thing that stops the four people who have never played from spending three hours embarrassed. A referee and a live leaderboard, so results are real. A plate competition, so a team knocked out at 16:20 is not standing around until 17:30. And a final that everybody watches, which is the moment the day actually becomes memorable.
What the HR lead is buying is that the six best players do not spend the afternoon beating everyone. A self-organised office tournament always ends that way. A seeded draw and a plate competition do not.
It is also year-round, indoor, ten days' notice, and it fits in half a working day — which makes it one of the easiest sells in the catalog when a client wants something in July.
